  1. the surface could be different (grass, clay, cement, etc...)

    also outside courts have the element of mother nature thrown in (rain, wind, sun)


  2. Yes, there is a difference. The outdoor courts usually are made of concrete with a very thin layer of tiny gravel sometimes. That way, the courts can handle the weather. Indoor courts are traditionally made of asphalt and therefore, can be slipperier. The reason is that the actual installation is cheaper and the thick concrete isn't necessary if the court is covered full time.

    the outdoor courts can have roof (like in the australian open) but they only close it when it rains of it's waaaaay to hot (mostly when it rains).-

  6. Indoor is usually slippery tiles and outdoor is hard,stable cement
