  1. External Respiration is:

    Includes all processes involved in exchanging O2 to CO2 between the body and the environment. Involves moving air in and out of the lungs (inhaling & exhaling respiratory Movements)

    - Also called Pulmonary Ventilation

    Primary Function

    - Meeting the respiratory demands

    of cells

    Internal Respiration is:

    Diffusion of gas between interstitial fluid and cytoplasm

    Involves the uptake of O2 and production of CO2 within individual cells

    -Also called cellular respiration

  2. External respiration is the gaseous exchange that happens when we breathe. Oxygen in, Carbon dioxide out.

    Internal respiration is sometimes called cellular respiration. It is the process by which cells release energy from food (glucose)

    Glucose+Oxygen --------> Energy+CarbonDioxide+WaterVapour

  3. I think external means the intake of oxygen and the exhalation of carbon dioxide,while internal is the carriage of the oxygen via red blood cells to the rest of the body.Just a thot.

  4. Internal respiration - The metabolic process by which living cells absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide.The actual biochemical reactions taking place in cells.

    External respiration -The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the environment and respiratory organs such as gills or lungs. The physical process mof breathing and gas exchange.
