  1. in my own personal experience iritis is not usually caused by "trauma" as the last poster indicated.  sometimes it is, but usually its caused by either inflammatory disease (arthritis, sarcoid, etc) or idiopathic.

iritis aka anterior uveitis is inflammation inside of the eye.  usually white blood cells & protein ("flare").  it causes achy eye pain, blurry vision, red eye and light sensitivity.  it is often confused for "pink eye", which it is not.  it needs medical treatment by an optometrist or ophthalmologist, and iof left untreated can CAUSE other problems like posterior synechiae and glaucoma.

need to see an eye doc

  2. Iritis is caused by trauma to the eye, some symtoms are:

-Pain in the eye or brow region

-Worsened eye pain when exposed to bright light

-Reddened eye, especially adjacent to the iris

    -Small or funny shaped pupil

    -Blurred vision

    -Headache

Eye Syndrome depends on what you are talking about, if dry eye syndrome is what you are talking about it occurs when there is a small tear in the thin film that coats your eyes some symptoms are:

    -Decreased tear production

    -Excessive tear evaporation

-An abnormality in the production of mucus or lipids normally found in the tear layer

The main difference is that Iritis occurs usually after a trauma and dry eye occurs to mostly adults over 40
