  1. Isolated thunderstorms meaning one or two lighting storm "cells" or groups of thunderclouds in an area.  Scattered means many smaller cells across the same area, which will spot the sky rather than being conglomerated in a very few spots.

  2. isolated is the storm is in one general location.. scattered is across sections.. here might not be raing but a few blocks away but be storming

    --------------------

    isolated Separated from others; solitary or singular: Reporters in the field observed isolated instances of rebellion.

    ---

    scattered:

    occurring or distributed over widely spaced and irregular intervals in time or space; "scattered showers";

  3. well i dont think for isolated and scattered they know the exact location in your area or town with thunderstorms thats for an exact location scattered means on 1 side of a street it could be sprinkling and on the other it could be doing nothing   hard to explain hope i helped!

  4. Because isolated means they can narrow it down to one county or area. Scattered means many different places should be warned or aware. It pretty much tells you how much to panic.!
