  1. Newborn clothes are generally sized for babies 5-8 pounds, though my daughter wore them until she was 9 pounds. Size 0-3 months clothes are for babies 8-12 pounds. It goes up from there. I think 3-6 month clothes are weighted for 12-16 pounds and 6-9 are for 16-20 pounds, roughly. Keep in mind that your baby may be heavier or lighter, longer or shorter, so you'll have to adjust. Also, if you're looking at Carter's brands (or most brands for that matter) a size 3 means 0-3, a size 6 means 3-6, etc. Good luck!

  2. NB is usually 5-8 lbs.  My baby girl can probably wear the NB clothes on a hanger out in the store till about 10lbs though.  The onsies are getting small at 8 lbs.

    0-3 is 8-12.5 lbs.

On average my pediatrician says most babies gain 1-2 lbs per month.  But I would base my decision on what your baby has been gaining over the last month or two.

  3. it basically depends on the brand.  generally speaking, they're the same size.  some brands have 0-3, 3-6, etc...others have NB, 3, 6, etc.  congrats on your little darling!  and have fun at your shower!

  4. My son's were preemie too (about 3lbs each) so they fit in preemie clothes quite a while. I would put the outfits you'd like to use right away newborn size. The clothes you'll need in a month, or two after go for 0-3 months. At Christmas (if you celebrate) I would ask for the 3-6 months sizes, and up.

  5. i will put 0-3 months in the registryan some 6-9 months . as lons it is not the smallest size you re fine and reming them to get gift receipt so you can change whatever you dont like .

  6. wow. i dont know. some people with preemies find they put on weight at a faster rate to make up for lost time of you like.

my advice would be to judge a size, call the store, explain the situation and ask if the clothes are in new condition with the tage still on, can you exchange them. i shouldnt expect theyd say no.

  7. I would just put her in 0-3 mo if the newborn are still fitting. Then put a few 3-6 mo b/c it might still be cold or atleast cool when she able to wear them. Ask for both.
