  1. apart from nothing, possibly different case, there is nothing different.

platinum just shows a game which did excellently.

  2. There given a score by Playstation experts on games. Platinum have a mark around 8 silver 9 and  gold are given very rarely a 10

  3. nothing...basically platinum games are games that have high sale records

  4. Platinum games mean that game in particular sold a certain high number of copies, and is re-released on a platinum label to seperate it from other games.

  5. PLatinum games are like honored games because theyve sold lots and lots of copies so they put it out in a different case to honour it

  6. platinum ps2 games are older games that have been re released at a cheaper price

  7. The platinum games are top sellers and are sold for cheaper due to their immense popularity.

  8. platinum means they sold a certain amount of copies of that game

  9. for one, "Platinum" is what XBOX games are.  Playstation games are called "Greatest Hits".

and usually, the only difference is that GH games are $19.99 brand new and they have red on the case and disc where they are normally black.

  10. nothing, just maybe the case has a different picture on it

  11. I've just read somewhere (see link) that although the platinum editions are supposed to be released when the game is a big seller, it can just be a marketing thing. For example, if the game is old and not very popular, re-releasing it as a 'platinum edition' makes people believe that it's a popular game and therefore they should buy it. Some people don't like to buy them because they don't match the other games - their cases stand out like a sore thumb! And apparently the 'platinum editions' don't always have the same features - e.g. 'Making of' DVD's that may have been included with the original.

Personally, I think they look a bit tacky and would prefer the original :P

  12. platinum ps2 games always state "platinum-the best of playstation 2"-or simply "platinum" on the case.

the discs are always silver as opposed to the embossing of graphics on standard discs.

there is no difference in actual gameplay and the games can either be new or re-releases and it is just a marketing ploy.
