What is the difference between ( oscillating ) & ( vibration ) in dynamics , i just want to know their exact meanings in english also in science ?

    Vibration generally refers to "mechanical oscillation". But it is also used to mean just oscillation(synonymous).

    Something I just saw in wikipedia.

  3. Oscillation means a periodic motion of large amplitude ex. motion of a pendulum.

    Vibration also refers to periodic motion but of very small amplitude & high frequency ex. vibration of a tuning fork.

  4. Oscillation is a back and forth motion (sine or cosine wave).  Vibration is much more sporadic, but vibration can turn into oscillation, especially when something is being vibrated near the resonant frequency.
