What is the difference between pay as you go and prepaid.?

i have no idea, i just hear these terms going around.

i would like to just buy a phone (no contract, no deals, just plan phone) and use one of those cards where you punch in the number and you have a certain amount of minutes. what is that called?

  1. Pay as you go means you may by day.  Like on AT&T pay as you go means if you use your phone on a day you pay a $1 fee. With pick your plan, you get regular minutes plus other things.  


  2. It's called either pay as you go, or prepaid. They basically mean the same thing.
