  1. Basically the only diffrence is just very few new features. like the new "quick selection tool" and a couple of new filters and you can also animate with just photoshop cs3 itself ( not having to use imageready and since it's also not included in the CS3 set).

it's really not much of a big deal. Just a couple of new stuff. =P

  2. CS and CS3 are basically the same.  Obviously, CS3 has some cool features for professionals, but if you're still a student then I doubt you're going to take advantage of those.

I have CS3, and I would say there isn't anything that you ABSOLUTELY can't do without.

but there are some helpful features that have come out since CS, like:

-"smart" objects (useful if you're working between different Adobe programs i.e. Flash, Illustrator, etc.)

-the quick select tool (sort of like a smarter version of the magic wand tool, but magic wand is still there)

    -image warp

    -red eye tool

    -spot healing brush

    -"smart" filters

see my source for a better list

  3. You can actually buy CS3 dirt cheap if you're a student.  Go to your schools technology website or ask the OIT department about it.

  4. just download cs3 demo and get any serial number then find a new exe file for PS CS3 that is already activated and there you go
