  1. LCD - Liquid Cristal display .  This has high contrast ratio.  Brilliant colors. Comparatively low power consumption.  Good for Home.

Plasma is also thin but consumes more power than LCD (or as equal to CRT).

Generally plasma TV is meant for big screens (40" or more)

    HD means high defenetion.

  2. don't wanna bore you,but my mate spent the best part of 6 months banging on about what tv he was going to get.plasma apparently is better if you ONLY want to watch tv,and is more expensive.lcd on the other hand,is not so good for tv viewing, but if you have a pc or ps3,you definitely get far better results, and is cheaper.HD,stands for high definition.

  3. high Definition means that your T.V displays images at a higher resolution. Plasma T.V's use Xeon and/or neon gas, when electrodes hit the gas, they produce colored light.

Liquid crystal display T.V,s use tiny tubes filled with liquid, when charged, they produce colored light. Plasma T.V's are great for medium to dark room conditions, in bright light the picture washes out. New technology has decreased the " burn in" effect that earlier models had produced. This is why people say that it isn't good for gaming however the response time of Plasma t.v's is much better for fast moving objects than LCD'S and they produce much better dark images.

  4. hd stands for high definition. difference between plasma and lcd... plasma is only for tvs 37+ inches. lcd stands for liquid crystal display and is smaller and cheaper.

  5. LCD stands for "Liquid Crystal Display" and Plasma tvs are basically filled with inert gases (neon and xenon) that turn into a plasma when electricity is applied. Due to the nature of the technologies, plasma produce better contrast ratios and colour, however it is better for 37" or higher tv sets only.

HD is high definition. Which basically means higher image resolution (great number of pixels on your screen). When you start watching HD programmes then the picture will be better quality due to the higher resolution.

This site explains it all better and in more depth if you want to know more technical information:

    Hope that helps!

  6. A plasma is a tiny microscopic parasite and LCD stands for Long Cold Drunk and HD means High Definition.

All three come from Mars and replicate TV's here on earth.
