What is the difference between print ad design and just ad design?

There are different parameters and criteria for advertising in and on print, television, radio, signage, car wrap, magazine, bus shelters, buses, movie theatres, etc.  

Ad design can only be accomplished when you first decide the media you will use.  In terms of print advertising alone you would still need to determine whether the advertising is a single fly sheet, broadsheet, flyer, brochure, postcard, business card, etc.  

A lot of variables and a lot of decisions to be made before the design work starts.
