  1. Psychology is study of how the mind works, sociology studies the habits and behavior of people. They are very closely related because an understanding of psychology helps one understand social interaction and the study of social interaction (especially as it applies to cultural differences and similarities) helps one understand psychology.


  2. psychology focuses on an individual, whereas sociology focuses on groups.  That said, they do overlap quite often.

  3. Psychology is the study of a single person or a small group(social psychology). Sociology is the study of groups of social comunities and societies. Note: Psychology is not a sub-set of sociology and sociology is not a sub-set of psychology. they are separate fields. Sociology is why groups do the things they do while psychology is why individuals do what they do.
