  1. private = $

    Public + Free

    privates better

  2. Wel, personaly, i love private schools, but your gonna have to work hard for that. The school interviews you and looks at all of your grades to see if your reasonable for this school. And public, u just sign up at the school. And there are a LOT more kids at public schools. So i like Private.

  3. I go to public school,I've never went to private school,but honestly to me I think publci school is better.Well when you get in private school you KNOW you're gonna have to wear a uniform,but most public schools don't make you wear uniforms.And the #1 reason:Private School cost money and lots of it $$$.

  4. Private Schools are more money than Public Schools. Usually, the curiculars are more....I don't know the right word....advanced?

    Supposedly, if you attend Private School, you'll have more of a well rounded education. Let's go with that.

    However, a lot of Private Schools are stricter than Public Schools.

    In my opinion, Private Schools are better when it comes to raising children. Most are, anyway...

  5. Public schools are funded by the government while you have to pay full tuition in private schools.

    It is not black and white which is better. I went to private schol from kindergarden through 8th grade and a public magnet school for high school. the private school plusses are more money per student most likely, smaller classes, don't fall under the beurocracy of public school systems, and you have more of a say in what goes on. However, i found my private school to be too small. Everyone was too similar. I enjoyed my public school much more. There wasn't as much focus on designer clothes. you weren't expected to go on lavish vacations. it was a lot more diverse. there are more people and thus more opportunity for friendship. i liked my larger classes which gave more viewpoints, and if there was ever a day when you just didn't feel like talking it was ok since there were more people.

  6. Public schools are publicly owned and payed for by the taxpayer.  They are state run and have to follow state guidelines.  They are free to everyone.  Private schools you have to pay to attend.  Some are parochial (religious) and some are college preparatory.  They have to answer to the parents if they aren't performing to their standards.  Many people prefer private schools, if they have the money, for that reason.  A public school can be as good as a private school, but generally a private school is going to work harder to give you a good education because their reputation is based on high SAT scores and getting kids into a good college.

  7. It depends on the quality of the schools in question, but in general you will get a better education at a private school with more discipline and less distractions than at a public school.

    One is not more "real" than the other.  One is generally a much better environment for learning than the other.

  8. private costs a lot more than public like in the thousands and are usually religious and probably has a better learning environment than public schools.

  9. u have to pay for private school

    i;ve been to both...i kinda live private better cause the work is kinda slower, but i like public too

  10. public school is a place where youre out in an open environment and you can wear what you want  and the schools are usually less physically appealing.

    private school is a place that you usually have to pay(alot of money) for and the school itself i most likely appealing... but most private schools make their students wear uniforms and you dont really get the learning experience of group learning and hands on things.

    in my opinion public school is a place that will get you used to how youre life will be in the near future... and you can wear what you want

    so i would say that public school is better than private school

    [ i go to one of the best public schools in the United States & its not a school (as everyone was saying) that lets just anyone in-- you have to take a very difficult test to become a student at this establishment -- but the teacher and building and learning is amazing]

                        ---> i hope that helped :)

  11. public is reality

    private is shaded and expensive

  12. Private school is much better than Public school.

    The reason why I say private school is much better than public schools is because Private schools have smaller class sizes, good learning environment, good equipment and facilities (my Private school just built a 4 million dollar building and had a massive computer upgrade) and very good teachers. The year 12 teachers at my school are outstanding and have produced some of the best scores in my region.

    If you ask me, with Private school you get what you pay for. There is nothing wrong with uniforms, think of the advantages, they are durable, makes everyone equal, you can't make fun of someone's clothes, they are warn- made to suit the environment, and make you feel as if you are part of the school. Uniforms cost a fair bit but one you have them, they last until you outgrow them. Some can be in the family for generations!

    Just because a school is private, doesn't mean people do not know what real life is like, where does that logic come from? Are we not in the same country, why do you think Private school kids are more isolated, we still meet many different people, we have after school activities, go to parties, movies, have friends outside of school, there is no major social difference with Private schools.

    The most fair statement is the average private school is better than the average public school. There are some public schools as good or better than the average private school, but this is usually because of the Students themselves being high performers, rather than the actual school. I'd say, the best private school, stomps on the best public school. You have no idea how elite the best private schools in the country are.

  13. A public school is funded by tax dollars and private school is funded by tuition.

  14. Truly depends on the child. Sometimes private schools are quite excellent and academic although  often a problem child gets sent there. Other times a private school especially if religiously oriented does not hire certified teachers so you need to check that out. In our area the publics are better in math, the private in languages and english type creative writing. Im sure you know the problem with the public schools but depending on the district, can be good. In summation, there is NO perfect school for your child . You have to supplement learning of your child and be ever vigilant in case problems arise and then consider transferring.

  15. public is where all kids can go to but private is where u have to pay a lot of money

    i would say public

  16. Okay the short answer to the first part of your question is:  Public - Free; Private - costs money.  The second part of your question really depends on your personality, personal interests, and goals.  For example, let's say you are an exceptional athlete who is banking on an athletic scholarship to get into college.  Well then a public school might be better for you.  Some private schools don't even have a football team.  Also let's say you want to fix cars for a living.  Well then you would want to be part of a vocational program at a public high school.  Now for the other side of the coin, I would say private school is almost always better for people who are more bookish and are looking to get into a top college.  The main point of a private college preparatory school is just that:  To prepare you for college.  It is "reality" to use a word that another person said, if your future will be going to college.  If your future reality will be sitting in a cubicle all day then public school would seem more like reality as everyone is pretty much treated like a number and there is no freedom.  Now, if by private you mean parochial school then I would say they are about the same in quality as public school except they focus on religion.  It is up to the individual to decide what is their main goal and check out different schools to find one which best meets their needs.

  17. A public school is funded by the government (usually by the state the school is in) while private schools are funded privately and are therefore more expensive to attend.  As to which one is better, I think it depends on the individual schools (there are both wonderful, and horrible public and private schools.)  Public schools K-12 have to allow anyone to attend and have to follow strict guidelines, while private schools can be more selective about who attends and can also tailor their curriculum to religious convictions.  Hope this helps.
