  1. When u want something its just something u desire, like a cute shirt or something, But a need would be something like toilet paper.

  2. Need is a necessity.

Want is a desire, but not a necessity.

  3. In a basic way, to want something is to covet it - it's a desire to have something that you may not necessarily need it.

To need something is basically to need it out of essential necessity.

For example: I want a Ferrari.

I won't die if I don't have it. It's something because of an ego.

    I need food.

Because it's essential to my survival.

This is a rough example of the two basic verbs. A lot of people want things but there is a very limited amount of what we actually need.

  4. Need is something that is necessary for survival. While Want is something you'd like to have but isn't necessary.

    Need:Food

    Want:Hot Girlfriend

  5. When you need something it's necessary that you have it, but when you want something you only desire it and could manage without it.

  6. Need is a must, want is a desire.

You need to breath air in order to live.

You need to have water in order to live.

You want to have bottled water.

You need to eat in order to live

You want to eat junk food.

  7. need in what a person or thing must have in order to function or survive

want in what a person feels like having.

unfortunately these two prases are comonly exchanged with each other
