  1. Taser guns shoot out two probes out to a distance up to 15 feet then have an electric cycle from 3-5 seconds depending on the version, stun guns are solely for contact stuns...i.e. up close and personal. You can still do contact stuns with the taser, it gives you the ability to have a standoff range.

By the way the same question was posed an hour ago...

  2. Here's a site that will tell you everything you want to know:  www.protectusfromevil.com  We've purchased a couple of things from here and were very happy with products.  They will definitely recommend the best brand.

  3. Tasers are specifically electrical in nature.  "Stun Guns" has been applied to all types of less than lethal weapons including the old bean bag riot gun that was used for a few years...  so tasers are stun guns, but not all stun guns are tasers...

  4. A Taser not only puts out the 50,000 volts at .005 amps but the waveform of the electrical charge is kinda interesting.

The Taser shoots two small darts attached to the Taser by small wires, the charge travels down these wires to the subject. The darts need not penatrate the skin to be effective. Taser International has done boatloads of research on the waveform of the signal the brain electrical the nerves to make us do voluntary movement. The Taser mimics that waveform. So when the Taser is deployed the electrical energy not only hurts, it tenses up the muscles between the two probes and beyond, and and many times falls to to ground.

A stungun, or a handheld electrical weapon, is handheld and needs to be applied to the subject and held there. Also a stungun only hurts, and only while its applied. It will not knock the person for a loop like the Taser. One the pain is gone s/he will be one pissed off person.
