They seem like the same thing to me. Any one care to explain what the difference is?

  1. I have no idea what the answer is, just thought id hug back!

  2. As far as I know, dating is just hanging out with each other and "whatever" else you do with people you're dating but courting is dating for the purpose of getting married.  Like you can date anyone, regardless of if you want to marry them or not but you only court someone you think you could marry.  I could be totally wrong but I am just answering according to those Joshua Harris books.

  3. To me, I think they are synonyms. But, I checked the dictionary to attempt to give a better answer (pardon the non-p.c. terminology):

    courting - noun

a man's courting of a woman; seeking the affections of a woman (usually with the hope of marriage); "its was a brief and intense courtship"

from WordNet - Published by Princeton University

  4. courting is a more elegant concept. courting i think is more exclusive and more adult like. as with dating isnt exclusive and more child like. they are very similar but far from eachother and no the hug did nothing for me i just like to hear the sound of my own voice
