  1. rally scoring means that a point is awarded to the team that DID NOT Make the error.  A point is awarded to someone every play.  In the traditional way of scoring, your team could only score when you served.  If you served and then the team made an error it was simply called "loss of serve" and the serve went to the other side.  As you can guess...this could make a game go on for an eternity, and it was very hard for an upset.  I´m pretty sure that everyone does rally scoring.  I play pro and we used it here as well as in high school and university.  It is much better, and gives the underdog a chance...as well as a much more interesting game to watch.  It´s all about who is the best team on that given day.  I love it!

  2. the traditional way of playing is that u had to servr to get  the point but in rally scoring who ever drops the ball or something like that doesnt get the point

  3. Rally point score means every rally won counts a point whether that team is serving or not.

In traditional scoring,  you only win points when you serve. If you win a rally when the other team is serving then you don't get a point, you just get the serve back. This is known as a "sideout" ie their service has finished.

What used to happen was a team served, the other side does a big attack and they win the serve. Now the first team wins back the serve with their first attack. And so it went on with the serve passing back and forth without any points being won. The games  used to last ages, so to make them of a more consistent length for TV schedules etc they introduced the rally point system in the 1990's.

  4. In rally scoring...the winner of the rally wins the point, no matter if they are serving or not....

in traditional volleyball you can only earn a point if you are the serving team!!

  5. In rally scoring there will be a point scored every play (except of course on a technicalitty)

In traditional scoring you have to be the team holding the serve to win the point.

In elementary and high school volleyball you use rally scoring.

I'm not sure about the college and pro levels.
