it's simple alpha rays consist of millions of alpha particles if you understand this than you can also understand light what is light? light consist of millions of photons so alpha articles are like photons and alpha rays are like light...

An alpha ray is a stream of alpha particles.  Alpha particles are Helium nuclei that are emitted from unstable heavy nuclei.  More or less they are usually used interchangeably.
