  1. E85 is actually much higher octane and great for getting good power in turbocharged cars.  It's cheaper but you get much lower mileage compared to gasoline.  Cars generally need to be tuned for it so you would have to look for cars that are sold as E85 compatible.  You also have to be careful to keep the car full when you can because in most areas it is not easy to find places that sell it.

  2. Ethanol == burns up gas faster = more tank fill ups = oil companies will love you.

  3. Ethonal is alchohol made from fermenting something.  It can be used by any car.

  4. E85 Ethanol is 85% ethanol/15% gasoline. You cannot use it in every car. Most cars can take 90% gas/10% ethanol, but not 85% ethanol, the reason being is ethanol is basically alcohol, which is highly corrosive to cars not built for it. Chevrolet has a line of cars that run on E85, "Flex Fuel" vehicles. But E85 is not for use on all cars at all. E85 gives less gas mileage than regular gasoline, but offers reduced emissions and its cheaper.

  5. E-85 is 85% ethinal and 15% gasoline
