  1. A polymer is a single molecule made up of several or many smaller molecules joined together

A resin contains many different molecules.  It is a hydrocarbon secretion (containing polymers) of plants.

Check out Wikipedia for more details.

  2. RESIN is a part of POLYMER family

    like ARM and MEMBER

  3. In my years experience in industry we "informally" defined these as follows:

    1) Homopolymer = A high molecular mass product manufactured by polymerising a single monomer, the polymerisarion taking place as a consequence of the double bonds in the monomer. An example would be polyacrylicacid.

2.Copolymer = A high molecular mass product manufactured by polymerising a mixted monomer feed. There can be two monomers, for instance styrene and butadiene which is used extensively in the carpet manufacturing industry. Many copolymers are made from a complex mixture of monomers depending on the end properties required of the polymer. An example would be a pure acrylic polymer used to manufacture paints for wall covering, where the monomers could be esters of acrylic acid, such as butyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylater, 2 - ethyl hexylacrylate etc.

    3) Resin We considered resins to be products that were produced by a condensation reaction, such as a urea formaldehyde resin, which is the reaction product of urea and formaldehyde, and water is split off during the condensation reaction. Resins are synthetically produced products

    4) Rosin This is a naturally occuring product, normally obtained from trees or the skimmings of the kraft woodpulping process (tall oil rosin)

  4. Resin is the product obtained by combining the same or different, one or many polymers.polymer is the one obtained from the same composition molecules.
