What is the difference between ringers and call tones?

On the Sprint/Nextel Site it has ringers and call tones. What is the difference. Also is the Motorola i850 on the Nextel network?

  1. A ringer is what you will hear when some one calls you.  A Call tone is what the caller will hear.  You can set it top a song or something instead of the normal ringing.

A ringer is what plays on YOUR phone when someone calls you, and a call tone is the ringer that someone else hears when they call you.  Yes, the i850 is on the Nextel network, and it's a piece of ****.  I was a service technician for Nextel and I can tell you don't ever buy anything expensive.  They will either malfunction or break.

  3. with a call tone instead of ringing when someone calls you they hear the song you purchase, ringers are what you hear when your phone rings
