  1. Yes, you are.

One Tennis commentator put it really well. He said that, "If singles is checkers, doubles is chess." There is way more strategy in doubles than singles.

In singles, the alleys are out. In doubles, they're in

  2. well doubl is when its two people vs. another set of two people on the same court. here watch this video of people playing doubles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmFBUjpYO...

  3. singles is where it is just you and your opponent playing each other. Doubles is where you have a partner and you are playing two other people. In doubles, one person, either you partner or you, is up near the net, and the other is back at the baseline. If your team is serving, then after each point, you switch sides (so if you started off on the right side, which you should since you always start on your right when you serve, then after the point youd move to the other side to serve). But if you are not serving, then one person is still up at the net, but instead of switching sides after each point you switch positions (net, baseline, net, baseline, etc).

  4. Singles  means  1 on 1

    Doubles means 2 on 2

    Hope it helps

  5. Singles means a 1 vs 1, Doubles means 2 vs 2 and can be mixed (a girl and a boy vs another boy - girl tandem) or plainly male vs male or female vs female.

  6. Singles is when there is one person on each side of the court. (you and your opponent). Doubles is when there are two people on each side of the net (you and your partner vs. two people on the other side) if you are just playing against your son  (and he is on the other side of the net) then you are playing singles. If you are playing on the same side of the net agianst other people... you are playing doubles.

  7. singles is when there is one player on either side of the net, while in doubles there are two players on each side of the net. the doubles court is a little wider on both sides, it's called the doubles line.

  8. Singles is when two people play each other. Doubles is when you have a partner and play against two other people. The scoring is the same but the actual setup is a little different.

  9. Doubles-2 playing 2 ......use outside lines of the tennis court

Singles- 1 playing 1....... use only the inside lines of the court

Easy to remember....an' yep  you would be playing singles

  10. single tennis is when there are only two people on the court (1 vs. 1, you and your opponent) and

double tennis is when there are four people on the court (2 vs. 2, you, your partner, and your two opponents)

  11. well, first the ovbious in singles two people play, in doubles four.-

the rules are similar to singles, only that the doubles use the entire court.-

  12. The difference is mainly that of singles is 1v1, and doesn't use the doubles alley. ( The long rectangle boxes on the far left and right side of the court) Points are usually much longer and have many rallies. Doubles is 2v2 and uses the doubles alley, which makes the court much larger. With there being 2v2, the points are very short and you very rarely experience a rally
