What is the difference between small and mini airsoft batteries?

I recently ordered an airsoft gun and a battery with a small type male plug, and someone said that my gun was meant for mini batteries, is there a difference or are they just different words for the same thing?

If the battery and charger come with the gun then chances are its a small or mini battery. They are essentially the same thing. If they both have small type connectors then nothing is wrong the guy was probably trying to throw words around like he knew what he was talking about.
