What is the difference between social class and social status? ?

I think status refers to your position within the class you belong to, but really don't know!

  1. well, here is the way I see it.

    Social class has to do with money, like upperclass, middle, and lower class. Depending on your income, you are grouped into one of those classes.

    Now social status has to do with your social value. Example, attractive girls are of higher social status than a homely girl. Alpha type males are of a high social status than the beta males. If someone is part owner of a nightclub, and travels frequently and has multiple girlfriends, he is of higher social status than the guy who lives in his parents basement playing video games and has no friends.
