  1. Do you mean Solitary and Communal?

    Solitary and Territorial are not exactly opposites, but I'll give it a shot.

    A solitary animal is one that prefers to live alone and have little to no contact with other members of its  species aside from when breeding. Most species of Bear are solitary.

    A territorial animal, which can be communal or solitary, is one that sets aside some territory for itself or it's communal group and defends that territory from intruders, whether they be members of its or another species. Many animals are territorial, including Betta fish, domestic cats, etc...


  2. Solitary wants to be ALONE. Territorial stakes out a spot/area and defends it against other creatures. Solitary can be territorial or nomadic (wandering). Territorial creatures can be part of a group defending the territory.
