And how do they aid you financially, as well? I've been frustrated about getting an answer for this question, which I can't figure out on my own... I don't bother asking my counselor because it's summer vacation right now... Any response/advices on your part will be appreciated.

  1. ACT is a test that is more science and math based, whereas the SAT is more english based. You should choose which test to take based on what your best subject is. However, if you take the ACT, make sure you take the optional writing portion, because a lot of colleges wont accept the scores without the writing. For the SAT, I recommend takinng 2 subject tests, math and 1 other. A lot of colleges look favorably on your application if you have those few extra things.

Also, if you get a better than average score on SAT or ACT, your school should reimburse you for the test.

For financial aid, you need to take the time to fill out a FAFSA. However, your parents wil need to help you with that because it deals with their income.
