mcg is a movingcoil type galvanometer and the coil rotates in a magnetic field when current is passed through the coil.tg is the moving magnet type galvanometer.the magnetic needle rotates when current is passed through the coil.stray magnetic fields have no effect on mcg and it can be used for the measuremnts of the currents even in mines.external fields have effect on tg &therefore it cannot be used n mines
