  2. sprint is an overall faster race than a pursuit. a sprint is for runners who can run at high speeds but for only short distances. a pursuit is for runners who have enough endurance to complete a longer race.

  3. Pursuit is a much greater distance, therefore in sprint the competitors are able to run with more speed.

  4. alias is correct.

And the sprint is a race against the other competitor(s) - the time doesn't matter.

Pursuit is a race against the clock.

  5. The team pursuit is 4000m and the time for the team is based on the third rider to cross the line.
