I'm going to purchase a 40Gb PS3 tomorrow and I was wondering if there were any differences with the quality of a Blu-Ray movie whether it were played on a PS3 or actual Sony Blu-Ray player.

When I was at my Best Buy this past weekend, I saw the amazing quality of a Blu-Ray movie on a Blu-Ray player. For the same price as the player, I figured that I should get a 40Gb PS3. I'm just wanting to make absolutely sure that I can get the same quality of a Blu-Ray player on the PS3.

P.S.

I have a 56'' Samsung DLP HDTV that I plan to use this on and a Bose sound system. I don't care too much about the sound, just the video quality. Thanks in advance!

  1. actually the ps3 is still the best quality blu ray player available. it meets or exceeds the performance of blu ray players that cost much more. the only thing its missing is a remote but buy that and you have the best blu ray player currently available. just like the ps2 was the best dvd player when it came out. you get a great game console too. but it would be worth the price even without it if you look at the prices of blu ray players now.

  2. The PS3 for the longest time was the best blu ray player, because it is upgradeable with the Internet, it has fast loading, very good video and audio, quality and not until this July 2008, the ONLY bluray player that has BD live. New Sony Bluray players just came out, the Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray Disc Player, which has BD live with ship date of July 23, 2008. Make sure you that you have BDlive profile 2.0 when you buy a bluray player, it allows picture in picture bonus view.

I have a PS3 and I am very happy with it for watching blu ray movies on a front projector with 90 inches or Sony 50 inch LCD. The negative on the PS3 is the controller which is blue-tooth, so you can not have a  master remote program to use with it.

If you don't choose the PS3, choose the BDPS350.

  3. PS3 has a blueray player

a blueray player is actually built to play movies

a small difference but r u gona actually tell the difference
