What is the difference between the HVR-Z1P camcoder and HVR-Z1U camcoder.?

I want to use this camera for film shooting in Nepal. Which technology best suits. please help me to get one. Thanks.

  1. Most likely PAL vs NTSC. Frame rate.

    Nepal is PAL.


  2. P for PAL (50fps or frames per second)

    U for NTSC (60fps or frames per second)

    If you are just shooting in Nepal but would be playing your video in let's say the US, then get the one with the U.

    If you intend to use the video footage and camera in Nepal then get the one with the P

  3. i think they are both the same camera.

    many companies will put slightly different labels on various products to indicate country codes or format (pal or ntsc perhaps)

    for example -  i have a sony hvr-v1p which is called hvr-v1u in other places.

    btw - the z1 is switchable between pal and NTSC so best of both worlds!
