What is the difference between the Mi No Fault LAw and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage?

  1. No Fault means it does not matter who is at fault, you are eligable to collect for injuries under  your own auto policy. This is called personal injury protection. This coverage will pay your medical bills.

    You are then eligable to make a "pain and suffering" claim with the other driver's company (if they are at fault for the accident)

    If the other driver does not have insurance, you can then make the claim on your own policy under the Uninsured Motorist coverage.

    Now, if you are a passenger in someones vehicle, and they do not have enough insurance to pay all of your bills, then you would file the remaining claim on your Under insured motorist coverage.

    It gets complicated........
