Viera is simply the new name we have for the plasmas - short form for "Visual Era".  The viera link technology mentioned above used to be called EZ Sync on the older models and HDAVI control on the even older models.  Other than the fact that it is a newer display and the technology is obviously updated (higher contrast, new glass panel, HDMI 1.3a support, etc) there is no difference.


  2. Viera Plasmas are the flagship models of the Panasonic Plasmas they also have a feature called viera link that comunicates with the other panasonic equipment you may have. One thing to remember is that the viera TVs are the well rated and usually easier to find in a retail store.
