What is the difference between the Saturday NASCAR races and the Sunday NASCAR races?

The Saturday races used to be called the Busch series but its now Nationwide, right? I know that the Sunday races are the main series. I've lost track of what that series is called now. Why are there two different race series? What are the differences?

Sometimes there is no difference.  NASCAR has several tiers (sort of like baseball).  The top tier is Sprint Cup.  They USUALLY run on Sundays.  However, they run on Saturday night about 10 times a year.  The next tier is the Nationwide series(formerly Busch Series).  They USUALLY run on Saturdays.  But, when the Sprint Cup guys run on Saturday, they get bumped to Friday.

The Sprint Series is the top series, while the Nationwide series is sort of like the "minor leagues".  It provides an opportunity for drivers to gain experience with the hopes to move up to the Cup series (or that was the intention of the series anyway).  

The cars between the two series are vastly different.  The Cup series runs the COT and the Nationwide series runs a car similar to the old Cup car.  The COT is bigger, has a splitter, has a wing, etc...  The Cup car also has a more powerful engine.

Saturday races formerly known as Busch are now Nationwide, and Sunday races formerly known as Winston then Nextel are now Sprint. (Yeah I know I hate changes like that myself).

The difference is that in the Sprint races the drivers are more experience, have better cars and get more money. Sprint races and drivers are the cream of the crop.   Some of the Sprint drivers also race in the Nationwide and Craftsman truck series.
