  1. This is how it plays out CFL and NFL are both football leagues. the UFC, Pride FC, WEC, IFL, etc are all MMA. They're just organizations of competitive MMAs. So there isn't really a difference there. It's just an organization within MMA. it's just that simple. By the way, the UFC is like the premier MMA organization along with pride, and the IFL and WEC are like the farm leagues. the fighters in the IFL and WEC are basically working their way up into the UFC and/or Pride FC.

  2. I read an interview with Dana White and he says the WEC focuses on the smaller fighters (featherweight, lightweight, etc) more than the UFC. That's why Jens Pulver left the UFC, he is a natural 145lb fighter. And of course the WEC is not as big as the UFC.

BigSlam, Pride was bought by UFC and no longer exists.

  3. They are 2 different MMA organizations.

They are both owned by the same company though, Zuffa.

  4. the ufc cut out their lighter weight divisions when they bought out wec. so wec has a lot more light weight bouts than ufc. the heavy weight divisions in wec are a lot less quality than ufc. with wec lighter fighters that would never have had a chance in ufc get to showcase their skills. it just shows that every weight division can have great fighters and great fights too.

and basically wec is a subsidiary of zuffa who seem to be taking over the whole pro mma world. hope this helps
