What is the difference between the centre of gravity and the centre of an object?

  1. Centre of gravity (centre of mass) depends on :

    1-the distribution of masses of the object

    2-and the geometry/ shape of the object on wich these massed act.

    Centroid (centre of shape) depends on :

    Only the shape of the object regardless its mass distribution

      


  2. The center of an object is strictly a function of geometry, the shape, not the distribution of mass.

    The center of gravity depends on the distribution of the mass of the object.  The center of gravity is the point about which the object balance.
