  1. hmmm...........good question

  2. If you put your fingers together (clasped hand), you will notice how they bind, a loose head hasn't any resistence on his left shoulder and a tight head has resistence on both shoulders.

  3. Unfortunately 6 and 7 aren't the props... the props are in the front row of the scrum. Loosehead has his head loose (i.e, on outside of scrum), where tighthead is between the hooker and loosehead of the opposition. 3 is tight head,. 1 loosehead. And Os du Randt is the best loosehead currently...and ever

  4. as for fitness requirments or style of play; there is nothing different. The only differences are.

    Loosehead wears no.1

    Tighthead wears no. 3

In a scrum the loosehead binds on the left of the hooker.

    The tighthead on the right.

The tighthead's head will be interlocked with the opposition's hooker and loosehead. The loosehead's head will only bound of his/her right.

The loosehead's stance must be wider in the scrum to allow the ball to be hooked back through his/her legs. The tighthead's may be closer and only concerned with the shove.

The loosehead usually leads it the contact of the scrum, a split second before the the rest of the front-row. By the tap fron the scrum-half whose places the ball in on the loosehead's side.

Traditionally in a line out the loosehead lifted the first jumper from the front and the tighthead from the rear.

Thats all i can think of, except for the loosehead being twice as beautiful as his handsome no.3 counterpart.

    Good question
