  1. Also the Ouachita Mountains were formed first by what geologist call the Ouachita orogeny, and when that happened the Ozark mountains were just a deep ocean basin. When the Ouachita orogeny happened, which created the Ouchita Mountains, it also caused an uplifting in the Ozark Mountains. Also the difference is what the mountains are made from. Not just How.
