What is the difference between the work out in which u get bug bulky muscles/ slim muscular body?

think arnold schwarzenegger for the bulky and mitich hewer for the slim but muscular body. is the work out different or is it just the tendency of the body for bulky muscles. does the difference apply to women 2, if i work out with weights will my muscles liook muscular? i promise i will chose a best answer and thanx in advance

  1. i have learned that bulky muscles happen when you use heavy weight with low reps .. stronger muscles come from more reps with weights that you can use and be able to have a large amount of reps.. reps of lets say ten would be better for strength than reps of like 3 or 5 if you were looking to be stronger instead of bulky


  2. the weight does not really matter, you muscle gets a work out either way. since you muscle is contracting, the bulky muscles result from body building drugs/protein mixes. Muscles grow in the presence of protein and constant use.  If you do the work out with heavy weights, but do not have the protein to support muscle growth, it will not grow into big bulky muscle.  

  3. There are several differences; Big=large amount of weight and sets of 3-5 reps. Slim= light to medium weight and sets of 15-20 reps.

    With the second program there will be some definition and bulking up it's unavoidable when working with weights. As long as you do not go hard core it will be minimal and make you look and move better. Or at lest I think so beach balls or tooth picks are not pretty

  4. To get the big bulky muscles the first thing that you would do would be to get the muscles in shape and get a lot of oxygenated blood to them, starting out with high reps for about two weeks, and then gradually over an 8-10 week period lowering the reps and get down to 1-3 reps.  That slim muscle look is the high reps and only changing the amount of weight a little bit.  For women this is not the same, women do not produce enough testosterone to get their muscles big by lifting weights, trust me, you will not get big muscles. Women will get slimmer in the are their working out, toning up, and getting a muscle definition, not bulky
