What is the difference between these discs?

this question was asked, kind of, but not in the entirety that i desired:

CD-RW

CD+R

DVD-R

+ and - are two different technologies.

R is write once, RW is write many times (you can write to the disk more than once).

CD is about 700k, DVD single layer is about 4.3 GB, double layer is about 8.6 GB.
