speakers are the same, box is pretty much the same, except for the kicker logo at the center, other than that i didnt see nothing different.

They are both the same other than the carpet covering.  My guess is that the 3870 is either on sale or may be a stock item they are trying to liquidate.  If I were buying it I would get the 3870.

same subs in the same box,they may have put them on sale to make room for the 09's  that are coming
