I think the difference become obvious when both play as openers. It will be Gilly who start the innings with aggressive shots.Hayden will be content to wait.

Gilchist was a keeper still is for a few more years and a batsman. Hayden is an opening batsman. They were born in different states. Gilchrist is known for his high grip of the bat and his freeness in his batting. Hayden is known for big hitting and dominating the attack but can also block an end if need be.
