  1. They mean the same thing. "Through" is considered the correct spelling. "Thru" is an informal or shortened spelling. Some people would say "thru" isn't a real word. It's a real word...I just wouldn't use it on a paper for school or a job application or any other situation in which you're supposed to look smart.

  2. I think that they mean the same thing.

  3. Through is the correct spelling.  "Thru" is a member of the abbreviated spelling society that is so much in vogue these days.  I would use the proper form in writing essays, resumes and business letters, things of that nature.  Thru is acceptable when texting or emailing friends, or any kind of informal writing.

  4. They mean the same thing but 'thru' is modern-day slang, like when used in texting to save time such as LOL for 'laugh out loud' or ty for 'thank you'.

  5. "Thru" is an informal spelling of the word "through."

"Thru" is okay for letters to friends and family.

"Through" is preferred for business letters and other formal writing, like that used in school.

  6. Through is used more in writing like when you say "and they went througha  tunnel" or when you describe a group of people or objects going "through" something. "Thru" is used more of like scheduling. Ex. Wednesday thru Friday, 2pm thru 5pm. Kind of thing. Does that help?

  7. Well is just an informal, simplified spelling of through.

  8. lol...thru is just a short informal way of saying through...blame McDonald's for that.  Itsjust like texting '2' instead of to,too, two.

Always use through when writing, only use thru when texting or messaging, its not appropriate for work, school work and especially exams!

    Hope that helps!

  9. yes the mean the same thing.... but thru is not in the dicionary i dont think ... people use thru for texts and msn ect just short for through.

  10. Thru is an informal way of spelling through

  11. Through and thru are exactly the same word.  Thru is just a shortened spelling and can be used in casual writing.  But if you're writing something for school or for employment, always use through.

  12. well not really people as in- mcdonald's and other fast food places use thru for drive thru

and the other through is like going through or whatever

  13. Thru is the the lazy persons way of writing through.  However, some spell checkers let it go through.  But as I have just discovered, Yahoo Spell Checker will reject it.

  14. thru is a shorter way to right through, like on signs on the road

  15. the first one has more letters..
