What is the difference between tonic water and soda water?

It is simply water with carbonation added and is also called sparkling water, carbonated water or seltzer.Tonic is a bitter soda water flavored with quinine that was dates from 1858.   3. Tonic water is made with quinine which is bitter tasting and soda water is made with bicarbonate of soda. Two different tastes really.

    tonic water contains quinine amongst other flavours and has a bittersweet taste, it was originally develpoed to combat malaria in victorian times.
