What is the difference between tonic water and soda water?

Tonic water is made with quinine which is bitter tasting and soda water is made with bicarbonate of soda. Two different tastes really.

soda water is fizzier than normal fizzy water because of the soda content and tastes of fizzy water.

tonic water contains quinine amongst other flavours and has a bittersweet taste, it was originally develpoed to combat malaria in victorian times.

There is a difference, but not a big one tonic water is lemon or lime flavored carbonated water.

Soda water is just fizzy water
