  1. Usually a salaried employee receives a set amount, no matter how many hours he/she works, with holidays and vacations covered whether the holiday is worked or not. Hourly employees get overtime after 40 hours, maybe time and a half on holidays (if the place is open) and no pay on vacations unless it's set up ahead of time. Salaried employees are usually on the upper track and make a little more per hour, and sometimes have better perks.


  2. Wages generally means you get paid so much per hour.  You pay may vary week to week, depending on how much your actually work.

    A salary is an amount you are paid in a year.  How much time you spend doing it is usually full-time work, but you aren't paid by time. (other than the yearly amount, split into equal portions)
