  1. Wakeboarding has a different mold and make than wakeskating. Wakeboarding has bindings whe WS doesn't. WB you are attached to the board. WS is a wider version of a skateboard and you have a more limited trick list.

  2. As has already been stated, wakeboarding you are attached to the board via bindings, and there are no bindings on a wakeskate.  In some regards wakeskating is more forgiving than wakeboarding.  When you catch an edge on a skate you do not come to an abrupt stop like you do on a wakeboard.  The face plant is not as painful.

You can wear shoes like skate shoes on the wakeboard if you have a board with deck tape like the deck of a skateboard, on the foam top, you do not have to wear shoes, I go barefoot most of the time.  The binding aide in keeping the board and your feet together when doing Aeriel's.

The wakeskate is much shorter and wider than most wakeboards.  The wakeskate is also shorter than a wakeboard.  Most wakeboards come is sizes ranging from 124 cm to 143 cm, wakeskates are in the 112 cm to 116 cm range.  Most wakeboards have channel on the bottom of the board and have a little different rocker (curve of the bottom of the board).  Most skates have a continuous rocker and most do not have any channels.  The rails of the wakeskate is a little more softer than most wakeboards also.

While you use the same technique to get up on either, they have a little different feel getting up.  You can do similar tricks as on a skateboard (kick flips and shuv its) that you can not do on a wakeboard.

Both are fun and worth giving a try.

  3. Wake skating? What's that? Is it when you're skating and you're being pulled along by something? Then I guess the difference would be that wake boarding is on water and wake skating would be on land. Am I right?
