What you are may refer to hobbies or career, and who you are is in your soul, your values, your beliefs.  I may be a nerd (as a what), but I'm a fighter and a good person (as a who).

what you are is what you make of yourself, what you do for a living, what your hobbies are,..a mother, lover, fighter, student, etc..And it changes as you go through life. Who you are is much deeper than that, maybe even deeper than your character...it's the person you see in the morning with no walls up..it's what you are when you don't lie to yourself.
