  1. Whole wheat bread is made of ground, whole wheat.

Wheat bread is made from enriched wheat which is processed and stripped of some of it's nutrients. Less healthy for you.

  2. In the U.S., we usually call whole wheat bread "wheat bread" and use the term "white bread" for bread made from wheat flour with the bran removed.

So, if it is made with wheat flour, but does not contain any of the wheat bran, it's "white bread"

  3. ALL bread, unless it is gluten free is wheat bread because it is made from wheat flour.  the difference is "whole wheat'  Then it is made from the whole wheat, bran included.  Lots of breads are brown and called wheat bread and when you read the ingredient label, you find that all that made it brown was food coloring.

  4. plain and simple

regular wheat bread is cheaper with less nutritous ingredients and less fiber

whole wheat bread has less additives more nutritional value and fiber per slice

  5. you know it is dumb

wheat bread is really brown in color but smooth in texture

whole wheat uses flour that may look similar to oatmeal..

    any nutritional advantage ...

    Your opinion vs"s mine

YOU or I Have NO idea of our requirements

we eat and po...That simple you got healthy po OK!! done

  6. Look closely at the ingredients list.  You do not want to see enriched white flour listed, as is on many "wheat breads" meaning they are made with standard white flour "enriched" to appear as wheat.  You want whole grain or whole wheat.  Many wheat breads are simply white bread in disguise.

  7. A bread that calls itself a wheat bread but does not say that it is whole wheat means that it is a combination of whole wheat flour and enriched white flour and for that reason it will contain a lesser degree of fiber than with breads that are deemed whole wheat breads. If a loaf of bread is made from 100% whole wheat then “whole wheat” or “whole grain” will be the very first ingredient that is listed on the bread label.

Whole wheat bread makes use of all three parts of the wheat, which includes the bran, the germ and the endosperm, and whole wheat bread contains the most fiber of all breads. Fiber is necessary for the proper functioning of the digestive system and it is a good way of maintaining a proper weight. Fiber is also helpful in lowering the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Wheat bread is sometimes fortified with calcium and if you choose this option always look for bread that is high in this mineral, such as in 10 to 15 percent per slice as well as high in fiber. For wheat bread this is likely to mean 1 to 1.5 grams per slice.
