  1. Well Vista looks nicer, that's the one any only improvement over XP.

Vista has too many problems, and you should avoid it.  MS should have waited another year before it was released.  For me it's biggest problem is the speed, Vista is extremely resource intensive.  Forget what Microsoft says, you need a fast quad core processor and 4 gigs of ram, to give you the same performance as an XP computer with 512 MB of ram and a 2.8 single core processor with hyper threading.  Not to mention every 5 seconds the UAC pops up asking you for permission to do the simplest things.   Most programs require you to right click the icon and than click run as administrator, instead of just double clicking it.  I was with tech support for QuickBooks for over 3 hours before we figured that out.   Everything is either moved, renamed or both for no reason whatsoever.   Add Remove programs is now Program mananger, why, it doesnt do anything add remove programs doesnt do, so why change the name of a utility they have used for 15 years.   The backup utility is useless in Vista, it backup files it wants to backup and not the files you want to backup.   Defrag doesnt give you a graphicaly look to tell you how much its done like on XP it will say 50% or whatever %, Vista just says Defrag in progress, which isnt major, but when your are at a clients office running that utilitly, you have no way to judge how long it will take.  Forget on a network, it stinks totally, especialy on a domain network.

Vista had allot of potential, but in its released form it is a huge flop.  That's why after a only a year and a 1/2 MS is replacing Vista with Windows 7 sometime in 2009.

  2. Man if u r using a good configured comp then vista is the best it includes many feature like u can search installedd programs directly form start menu im using vista ultimate and it has a programnamed windows ultimte extras through which u cat update ur vista  without vsting microsoft site but it sows popups for every action

    like running setups etc etc

  3. Vista is a powerful OS that wasn't ready to be marketed yet. It is Microsoft's answer to the Safari OS that Apple Corporation released (Safari is much better than Vista) Remember it's all about the money, everyone wants something new and exciting, but unfortunately Vista was and is not fully ready for general usage yet. I still prefer XP because it WORKS !!! Isn't that the reason we use an OS in the first place?

  4. Those that constantly bash Vista have ZERO clue what they are talking about. They just repeat what they have read somewhere else. That or they have some cut rate computer that can't run Vista properly. So disregard the naysayers that know not what thy speak.

To answer your question, Vista is GREAT if your computer can run it properly. Vista is in fact zippier than xp and flows a little easier in just about everything AS LONG AS YOUR COMPUTER HAS THE SPECS TO RUN IT.  Now that sp1 has come out a vast majority of the bugs have been worked out and Vista is chugging right along. In addition to that, MOST software, hardware, and game developers are phasing out xp support, so that is something else to consider.

  5. Vista is newer... But it sucks! Don't buy it, don't download it. Just stick to your XP. 'Cause I got Vista and boy... it sucks!

  6. I really hate Vista.  There are too many bugs.  The bugs outway the improvements. Actually, I can't find any improvements.
