With To Go, you can transfer your subscription music to a compatible MP3 player and listen to your music on that device.  Without To Go, you are restricted to listening to your subscription music on your PC.

Note that the iPod is not a compatible player for YMU To Go.  Yahoo has a list of compatible players.  Some models from Toshiba, Creative Labs, SanDisk, iRiver, and others work.
