To cure a disease or condition is to restore the body to full health.

To palliate is to partially treat as in severe cancer where they may be satisfied just to reduce the size and speed of growth then it looks like cure is not possible.

To supress is to mask the symptoms of the disease, like to take pain medication when eliminating the source of the pain is not possible but it is possible to supress the experience of the pain.
